Hello,
This is just an update to let you all know that we've received several books of the Bible from LBW, (Lutheran Braille Workers.) Apparently, they're sending more than the New Testament! So far, I have received two copies of Deuteronomy, Leviticus, 1 (or 2, I don't remember which) Samuel, 2 Chronicles and 2 Kings.
From what I am told, there should be another package coming today. These books are huge, so it's not like they could just all be shipped in one box! I really hope we get the NT in time.
Also, I really really need to begin working with the church of the Nazarene to get this stuff going legistically. My pastor said he has a directory so I could contact all the district superintendents of Mexico. When I come back from Easter break, I'll try to get right on it! This week has been busy though because of a big class project I had, so I couldn't get much done.
But, so far, things are still coming along!

Update
We have some great news!
Our new domain is:
http://www.braillebiblesformexico.org
Also, we have been able to partner with Aurora Ministries for the Bible on tape. They can't just give us a bunch to take, but they're giving us a sample, and we will put the names of those who want them on a list.
So, things are still going well!

News Update
Well, today, things just seem to be picking up. I was able to speak with someone from the Lutheran Braille Workers, and should have 5 large print Bibles and 3 Braille New Testaments coming here after a while. I'm so excited! That in itself wouldn't be enough, but I still need to get in touch with the Braille Bible Foundation and Braille Bibles International. Things are looking good!

Intro
Well, at first, one might wonder, why do something like this... So, let me explain.
I recently returned from a mission trip to Juarez Mexico. It was life changing! I've known for a while that I am to be a missionary, but that confirmed it!
As a blind man, I have greatly benefited from organizations which either gave away or sold Braille Bibles. There are quite a few of them in the US. But, as I was in Juarez, I started thinking. I don't know if there's anything like that there! And, if there isn't, there needs to be. And even if there are organizations, they could still probably use a distribution method. So, this is both! My desire is to be able to give away free Braille Bibles to the blind population of Mexico, whether they're donated or purchased. Granted, this will take a lot of time, but it's doable! Anything is doable when God is behind it!
So how do I plan to do this? Well, first with a lot of prayer. Without that, there's no hope for success. But, as far as the method of distribution, I'm looking for volunteers, and lots of them. I'm looking for anyone, but especially college age people. My hope would be that we could use the school year, August-May to prepare, and then send out multiple teams each summer. Could you spend a few weeks to change lives??? Maybe a summer???
Jesus told us that for those who have much, much is expected. And, compared to many in Latin America, we certainly have much!
Also, financial support would be very much appreciated. Without it, this just wouldn't be possible.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to leave a comment, and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Also, I plan to update this blog as soon as there is anything newsworthy to report!
Thanks so much! I look forward to a long and meaningful partnership with you all!
